Meet Siya Sachdeva
A Young Author with a Love for Words, Emotions, and Stories That Feel Like Home
Siya Sachdeva is a seventeen-year-old author from Bathinda, India, and the writer of The Absent Pearls, her debut novel. Born on 2 January 2009, she is currently in Class 12 and preparing to begin a new chapter of her life as she steps towards college.
Balancing school, studies, and the process of bringing her first book to life has made her writing journey both challenging and exciting. For Siya, publishing a novel is more than completing a manuscript. It is the experience of turning an idea into something real — something that can eventually sit in a reader’s hands and become part of their world.
A lover of poetry, music, and travelling, Siya has always been drawn to the beauty of expression and the emotions that connect people. She sees stories as places where readers can recognise parts of themselves, discover unfamiliar perspectives, and feel understood in ways they may not have experienced before.
The Heart Behind the Stories
For Siya, storytelling begins with emotion. She is interested in the experiences, relationships, silences, and situations that shape people, especially during the years when life begins to change and new possibilities emerge. With The Absent Pearls, Siya wanted readers to feel close to the narrator — as familiar as a friend who understands their thoughts, their silences, and the things they sometimes find difficult to explain. Her vision is to create a world in which readers do not simply observe the characters from a distance. Instead, they become emotionally connected to their experiences, sharing their laughter, uncertainties, discoveries, and difficult moments along the way. She hopes her writing can make readers feel that the story belongs to them, too.
A First Book, A Bigger Dream
Stepping into publishing as a young author has been a meaningful milestone for Siya. Alongside her academic responsibilities, she has experienced the excitement and challenges of developing her debut book and preparing to share it with readers. But The Absent Pearls represents more than a first publication. It marks the beginning of a dream that extends far beyond a single story. Siya hopes to see her book reach readers around the world, find a place on library shelves everywhere, and one day earn a place on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Above all, she wants to write stories that stay with people — stories that feel like conversations, offer comfort in unexpected moments, and remind readers that they are not alone in what they feel.
Welcome to Her World
For Siya, this is only the beginning.
With imagination, ambition, and a deep appreciation for the power of words, she hopes to continue creating stories that bring people closer to emotions, experiences, and perspectives that matter.
The Absent Pearls is her first invitation to readers to step into that world.
A world where mysteries unfold, relationships leave their mark, and the right words can make a stranger feel like a friend.
